System update: New CBME reports

Today we’ve released two new CBME-reports for our Canadian CBD customers. These are the first graphical reports to take advantage of our CBME mapping tools, and we think they will provide fresh insight into learner performance.

Trajectory Summary report

The first report - the trajectory summary report shows how a learner is performing relative to a given set of EPAs or competencies over time. The report shows each assessment on the date it was completed so you can see if a learner is improving their skills with time.

Spidergraph report

The second report - the spidergraph report shows you how a learner is performing on a whole set of EPAs or competencies in the moment. It’s a great way to get a holistic view of how your learner is performing.

System Update: A small update to make curriculum navigation a bit easier

We’ve updated the my courses page so that you can now click on the name of a Portfolio to jump directly to that Portfolio in the curriculum explorer. This should make navigation to the curriculum explorer a bit easier and faster.

System Update: Profile pictures will display in more places

We understand that one45 users deal with a number of people during their day to day activities and that it would be easier to connect a face with a name when using one45 to search or pick people. We’ve made some changes to ensure profile pictures show up when assigning permissions, distributing forms, searching for people and when picking people for logs or forms.

To take advantage of this feature, your learners, faculty and admin accounts will need to have profile pictures within their eDossier. Click here to learn how to do that.

We will update the necessary help articles but here are a few areas where you’ll see this change:

System Update: Admins can now rollback sendouts that do not have forms completed

The teams here at one45 are always looking for ways to improve your experience with our software and this latest change will definitely make correcting block sendout mistake more efficient.

You’re now able to roll back block sendouts for those blocks that do not yet have any forms completed.

At times, when you’ve initiated a sendout and quickly determine there was an error or a detail was missing from the schedule or the workflow, it’s inconvenient to have to log a support ticket and wait for the support team here to rollback the sendout so that you can correct the error and reinitiate the block sendout. While you are waiting for the block to be rolled back, forms could be filled out and it could become a time consuming task. Now you can quickly rollback that block sendout yourself (as long as there are no forms completed).

Here is a new help article that goes over this new feature: https://one45software.na2.teamsupport.com/knowledgeBase/6328517

System Update: Academic Half Day Attendance Expiry

You are now able to set attendance requests to expire.

The Academic Half Day feature allows you to track attendance, but not everyone completes the attendance request To Do’s related to these events. These requests could potentially sit there, incomplete, until an admin manually removes individuals from the event. Now you are able to set the number of days that attendance requests associated with the schedule would be kept active. Once set and the date has passed, the participant will be marked absent.

Those requests for attendance will be removed from the eDossiers and any pending forms will be deleted.

System Update: New competency and workplace-based assessment tool

*Update: If you experience any problems with the bulk/single send page or the evaluation workflow page, please clear your cache.

Our team is hard at work adding new tools and features to help you with the transition to competency based education. Our latest release, available today will help your program offer timely ad-hoc feedback results on assessments.

The workflow and form send out options for real-time feedback on assessments have been added to one45 and you are now able to release contributing forms to learners immediately after forms are submitted. The ability to summarize those real-time assessment with a head form at the end of the rotation has not changed. Now, you’re able to release the results right away and incorporate that same feedback into a head form later on.

This allows learners to get the immediate feedback on individual assessments even when they are linked as contributing forms to a head evaluation. With the ad hoc assessments directed by your learners you will still be able to run reports to track the details on sent forms, completed forms, etc.

If you don’t want learners to receive contributing forms at all, nothing from existing workflow or bulk/single sends has been changed. If you want learners to receive contributing forms immediately you’ll need to update your workflows.

This update allows for formative feedback to be received by the learner right away in order to address any areas for improvement immediately and still receive their overall summary report at the end of their rotation or curriculum moment.

For evaluation workflows set-up as faculty evaluating learners with a head form, a new question has been added:

For bulk single sends set-up as faculty evaluating learners with a head form, a new question has been added so you can decide whether the target should be able to view contributing forms or not. If ‘The target will not be able to view their results’ is chosen, this will work as it previously did and targets will only see the head form at the end. If ‘The target will be able to view their results as soon as they are available’ is chosen, this will allow the learner to see the contributing forms as they are completed.

Support for Internet Explorer 9 (IE9) and 10 (IE10) is ending May 1, 2017

Microsoft announced in January that they were ending support for IE9 and IE10 (https://www.microsoft.com/en-ca/WindowsForBusiness/End-of-IE-support). one45 will follow Microsoft’s lead and discontinue our support for these browsers as of May 1, 2017.

What will change for me if I use one of these older browsers?

Beginning with any releases in May 2017, we will no longer be testing our tools on IE9 and IE10, and we will not be addressing any bugs or performance issues that may occur when using those browsers.
You may find that over time some features or functionality no longer work in IE9 or IE10. This will be a gradual change over time, as we make updates in one45 that may be incompatible with these browsers.

Why is one45 ending support for these browsers

We want to provide the best possible experience for our customers. The time required to support these older browsers is time that we would rather spend on finding new ways to make you more productive and successful.

What do I need to do?

99% of one45’s users will be unaffected by this change. We recommend that you work with your IT team to upgrade any of the very old computers that you might still need to work with. Our system supports many other, free browsers that you may wish to consider if you can’t fully migrate away from IE9 or IE10. As of May 2017 we will officially support the following browsers:
  1. Internet Explorer 11 and Microsoft Edge
  2. Mozilla Firefox, most recent stable version
  3. Google Chrome, most recent stable version
  4. Apple Safari 10 and newer

Personal eDossier now shows the last time someone updated their password

We sometimes get requests from administrators wanting to know if one of their colleagues had set a password. This often happens when you’re helping someone reset their password, and you want to be sure that they were able to go through the process and get into the system successfully. When this comes up, you have needed to file a support ticket to get a member of our team to let you know the status of the person’s account.
Today we’re releasing a small update that lets you see this information without filing a ticket, directly from a person’s eDossier page. You’ll find the information in the Account Tasks section of the Personal Info page in the eDossier.

The possible values are:

  • Your password has not been set
  • Password last updated on DATE
  • Password has been set
That last option is for anyone who set their password before this update (meaning we don’t have record of the specific date to show).

Note that if your school uses a single-sign-on system, then none of this applies as your school passwords aren’t managed in one45.

System update: February 20th - Low Performance page enhancements

We’ve boosted the performance of the Low Performance page!

Some of you might have noticed that the low performance page has been a little bit slow to load, particularly if you’ve been collecting low performance data for a while, or if you’ve adopted new evaluation workflows where assessments are happening more often. We’re happy to report that we’ve made a few changes to the page to address this issue, and make the page load faster.
The first change you’ll notice is that we’ve added a date filter to the pages in each of the tabs. The filter uses the rotation/moment dates indicated on the forms. By default, the page will load flags on forms with dates since the beginning of the current academic year, ordered from newest to oldest. You can change the date range to anything you like.
We’ve also added pagination features. You can view 10, 50, or 100 flags at a given time (the page defaults to 50) and then page through the results, if all of the flags can’t fit on one page. The pages default to sorting by date, with the most recent at the top, so you can access the flags you are most likely to need quickly and easily.
Another change with the pagination is that the sorting rules in the table apply to the results currently displayed in the table only. If you sort by level or rotation, for example, you are not sorting all possible results - only the results currently displayed on the page. Note that if you change the sorting on one page, and then move to the next, the page remembers how you want the records sorted.

If you work with low performance on a regular basis, these changes should make a big difference in your experience with the page.
For detailed information on how the page works, please take a look at our help documentation.

System update: February 1st 2017

Forgot password workflow

We’re always looking for opportunities to improve the security and privacy of your data in one45. With that in mind, we’ve just released an update to our password reset workflow with security in mind.
The new password reset workflow has two changes. The first is that one45 no longer sends temporary passwords over email. When you reset your password you now get an email with a link that takes you to a page where you can set a new password.
The second change is that the page where you set a new password has gotten a much overdue facelift.

Once the user has confirmed the new password, they will be directly logged into their one45 eDossier.

See our help page for more detailed instructions.

System Update - January 17th 2017

We have upgraded the Learner Capacity page of the Rotation Lottery

What's better you ask?

1. Now, the selections get unchecked after saving:

Previously, the Learner capacity page would remember the rotations and time periods selections after saving the capacity.
This lead to lots of trouble and hours of manual work for some clients if they were to update other rotations or dates without unchecking the first ones first.
There would also be issues when admins meant to view the capacity, but saved what was selected as capacity instead.

2. We reordered the fields:

We have changed the order of choices for better logic, letting you choose the rotations and time periods before the capacity.

3. We removed the minimum:

Lastly, the minimum capacity was not looked at by the system when running the algorithm, so we removed that part. There is no more minimum.

The new page looks like this:

Please refer to our help documentation to review how it all works: Set Learner Capacity

System Update - January 11 2016

We've added a button for you!

If you’re a bilingual one45 user, you’ve probably wished at some point that you could switch the interface language after you’ve already logged in. We’re pleased to announce that if this has ever happened to you, we now have you covered.
If your school supports English and French, you can now switch between those languages from the personal information page of your eDossier. Simply open your eDossier, and hit the “Switch to…” button and the system will reload with your chosen language.
The system will remember your choice for the next time you log in.
As always, you will also be able to select the language from the login page.

This new button is only visible by a person for their own eDossier.
Admins do not see this button for other users.

System update - January 9th 2017

Update to Academic Session Scheduling

When creating an academic session the person creating the session has the option to select attendees that are scheduled into a specific rotation.

Previously, the system would add a calendar entry for the academic session for learners, including those who were scheduled into the rotation outside of the session dates.  This could lead to confusion for learners who were not scheduled into the rotation during the timeline of the session.

one45 has updated the system and added a step that cross-checks the Rotation Schedule. This will ensure that when a session is created any learners added as attendees by rotation are ACTUALLY scheduled into the rotation for the date of the academic session prior to posting the session details in their calendar.  Additionally, the system will check nightly for changes to the rotation and update the session entry in learner's calendars if they have been added or removed from the rotation.
